When Colloidal Silver gets darkened by light and oxygen, does that mean that it’s no longer effective?
August 24, 2011
I am faced with the dilemma of buying 1 gallon of Colloidal Silver (Mesosilver brand) because it’s much cheaper that way but I know that exposure to light and oxygen during prolonged storage will make the silver turn dark grey/black as it’s happened before although I store it in a cool and dark place. My question is: does its darkening mean that it’s lost its effectiveness and therapeutic properties?
When it turns dark, it has fallen out of solution.
It is no longer colloidal.
It never had any real therapeutic properties to begin with, so that doesn’t matter.

Got something to say?
It was never effective in the first place. It’s snake oil.
A gallon? Man, I hope you don’t drink it.

You need to ask the charlatan who sold it to you. I’m guessing they won’t know.

Colloidal Silver should be stored in a tinted glass container to prevent discolouration, never store this in a plastic container.I use C.S. topically, however it should not be ingested over a long period, check the internet for side effects.
I have a small machine for making C.S. at home, check the Internet for suppliers.
