What do you know about Colloidal Silver drops?
November 12, 2011
I recently posted about chronic colds.. someone suggested colloidal silver drops as a natural antibiotic which also fights against viruses.. I went to whole foods and got some.. can anyone offer up any personal experience with this?
i’ve seen/read all the warnings about excessive use leading to greyish bluish skin… and I also understand the chances of this are one in a billion, and if I take huge amounts of it for YEARS.
Colloidal silver does claim to work as a natural antibiotic / antiviral / antifungal agent; I can’t verify these claims, personally.
I do know a commonly prescribed burn cream is called, ‘silver sulfadine’, (‘Silvadene’, by brand). But this is a completely different form of ‘silver’. Just one caution; colloidal silver is not rid from the body, but accumulates in your tissues / skin with each use and can cause a condition called, ‘argyria’ (although it shouldn’t be noticeable in small, limited amounts). Recently, the cable news networks showed a man with blue skin who has taken colloidal silver daily for years. I’ve also seen it personally in the medical field. Just don’t overuse it. It’s apparently not harmful, but you will have to hear those damn ‘Smurf’ remarks the rest of your life.
