   Natural antibiotic. Aids in healing. Drop some on a cut and it will heal quickly. I have even seen it aid in clotting a bleeding cut.

   Sir J,

   Nothing good. The only thing it has ever been known to do is to turn your skin a gray-blue. Look up "The Blue Man" or "Stan Jones Blue Man." He was a Libertarian candidate for the Senate from Montana who took colloidal silver for three years, and now he is permanently blue-gray.

   Colloidal silver ("colloidal" simply means that it is in permanent suspension in a liquid. If you shine a light into a "solution," where the substance–the solute–is completely dissolved, the light will shine through it as if it were clear. Shine a light through a colloid, however, and some of the light will be scattered in it, as if there were milk in it. The substance isn’t dissolved, but it doesn’t settle out, either) got its reputation from experiments in the lab that showed that a virus placed on silver will die. So somebody decided that a virus in contact with any silver anywhere would die, too. So if you put silver in your body, it will kill bad bugs.

   Uh, no. There won’t be enough silver in you to do that. There will only be enough to turn you a really nasty color. And if you are blessed with a rich melanin color anyway, it will turn your skin a little gray, but it will turn the whites of your eyes blue. Spice, anyone?

   Don’t touch the stuff. It does no one any good at all.

   Colloidal silver is a suspension of submicroscopic metallic silver particles in a colloidal base. Long-term use of silver preparations can lead to argyria, a condition in which silver salts deposit in the skin, eyes, and internal organs, and the skin turns ashen-gray. Many cases of argyria occurred during the pre-antibiotic era when silver was a common ingredient in nosedrops. When the cause became apparent, doctors stopped recommending their use, and reputable manufacturers stopped producing them. The official drug guidebooks (United States Pharmacopeia and National Formulary) have not listed colloidal silver products since 1975.

   The answers given about it turning the skin blue or gray is accurate, however, by doing a little research, one finds that the chances of that happening is one in a billion or more. The people that happened to took a lot of CS for a long time and it wasn’t the ‘good stuff’, it was a large particle size. Do a little research and you will find that it is good for about any infection.
   I’ve been taking ‘home brew’ colloidal silver for years and can’t even remember the last time I had a cold. I’m 66 years old and have taken it daily for years I’m neither blue nor gray.
