18 New Trout Fishing Records in 2006!
January 10, 2012
It’s no secret that 2006 was a great year for trout fishing. And we have some new records to prove it!
Thirteen states posted new trout records in 2006, one of which is still pending for a new Junior Angler World Record. And British Columbia has two pending records for Rainbow trout caught with fly rods.
The first state to record a new trout record is Alabama. A Rainbow trout weighing 9lbs-1oz was caught by Otha G. Hamm in Mudd Creek in Tannehill State Park on April 22, 2006.
This broke the old record of 7lbs-4oz, set in 2004.
Arizona also recorded two new Rainbow trout records as well a new Apache trout record. Arizona is one of those states that separates its trout records into different categories. The new Inland Water (Hook & Line) record for Rainbow trout was set in September 2006 by Harold Wright. Harold reeled in a 32.5 inch Rainbow trout weighing 15lbs-9.12oz) out of Willow Springs Lake.
Arizona also recorded a new Rainbow trout record in the ‘catch and release’ category. This record was set in March 2006 by Jeff Senn when he reeled in a 22.5 inch Rainbow trout out of Silver Creek.
A 20 inch Apache trout was pulled out of Christmas Tree Lake by Cameron Frieh in July 2006, thereby setting a new record. This fish was also released back into the water.
In January 2006, James Harold Cohasset reeled in a 28.33lbs hatchery rainbow trout measuring 33.5 inches in length in California. This set a new state record for hatchery rainbow trout.
Connecticut new state record for Rainbow trout is still pending. The fish was caught by Billy Lutgen in July 2006 and weighed 7lbs-8oz. It was reeled out of Norwalk River.
Colorado also has two new Rainbow trout records pending. Both records were caught by David Pesi in August 2006 and were pulled out of Big Thompson River in the Rocky Mountains. The first trout weighed 1lbs-3oz and the second weighed 1lbs-5oz. The second trout was also caught using a fly rod.
Idaho has a new Splake trout record, recorded in May 2006. It weighed 10lbs-12.48 oz, measuring 28.5 inches in length. Brian Allison caught it in Ririe Reservoir using a Frenzy Deep River Lure.
New York has a new Brook trout record thanks to Jesse Yousey. In May 2006, Jesse used a Lake Clear Wobler lure to reel in his 4lb-15oz Brook trout out of Five Ponds Wilderness area.
North Carolina recorded a new Rainbow trout record of 20lbs-3oz caught in Horsepasture River by Leah Johnson. Leah used a Rapala lure.
Vermont’s new Rainbow trout record was set by Harry Hunt in March 2006 when he reeled in 13lbs-12oz trout out of Lake Dunmore.
Virginia boasted a new world record for Spotted Seatrout (Speckled trout) in January 2006. The trout, weighing 12lbs-1oz was caught by Barclay Shepard at Money Point.
Wisconsin’s new inland water record for Rainbow trout was set in June 2006 by Will Lusthoff when he reeled in a 12lbs-3oz trout out of Elbow Lake. Wills’ trout measured 29.5 inches in length.
And last but not least, Wyoming also has a new Tiger trout record, as of July 2006. Greg Salisbury’s Tiger trout weighed 1lb-10oz and measured 16.5 inches in length.
The International Game & Fish Association (IGFA) also has 3 NEW WORLD TROUT RECORDS PENDING!
The first pending world record is for a Brown trout caught by junior angler Christopher Miller in October 2006. His trout weighed 14lbs-9oz and was reeled out of Dry Run Creek in Arkansas.
The next two pending world records in the Fly Rod category and are for Bull trout. Both were caught in August 2006 out of Wigwam River in British Columbia, Canada. The first Bull trout was 10lbs-8oz (caught by Josh Splinter) and the second was 18lbs 8oz (caught by A. Matthew Eggert). Tippet sizes were different
Records are made to be broken, so here’s wishing you all good luck in 2007!

are freshwater pearl stoned rings supposed to have little a silver water bubble-looking mark on it?
January 5, 2012
i bought a freshwater pearl ring and 1/4 of the stone looks like a silverish water bubble-looking thing .. you can see my reflection on it. is that normal?? or is it defective??
freshwater pearls are irregular, and organic looking. it is normal for it to look like it has imperfection.
Can i put my taxco silver vintage jewelry in a liquid solution-style jewelry cleaner?
January 5, 2012
It has some blueish/greenish colored areas ,but I have no idea if that’s turquoise or some tinted enamel. How should I clean the silver
? Should I assume it’s sterling silver? Does that make a difference? It’s old and badly tarnished…thanks!
just to clarify, the blueish/greenish areas are stones or something…the metal itself is not turning blue/green. It’s just silver but tarnished.
Yeah you can use jewelry cleaner or do this:
Cover the inside bottom of a heat-proof glass dish bowl with a piece of aluminum foil, shiny side up.
Place the tarnished silver in the bottom of the dish, on the aluminum foil.
Add 1 heaping tablespoon of baking soda, and then slowly pour boiling water to cover the piece. The tarnish will gradually collect on the aluminum foil.
Remove your silver, rinse thoroughly and dry.
If you live near a jeweler, she/he can tell you if its turquoise and what sort of silver it is, before you even clean it.
Anyone use colloidal silver for seborrheic dermatitis?
January 5, 2012
If so, did it work? I’ve tried teatree oil before for that because I know it works as an antifungal but no such luck. I am hoping colloidal silver works.
Colloidal Silver (CS) is an effective antimicrobial with powerful antibiotic properties that help destroy bacteria, fungi and viruses.
Colloidal Silver should be used temporarily rather than continuously.
Some doctors recommend that after using colloidal silver for an extended internal treatment period you should take steps to remove the silver from your system. Approaches include taking homeopathic silver (Argentum nitrate), EDTA chelation, or homeopathic DMPS.
Colloidal silver is commonly recommended in acute and chronic recurrent infections for short term use (7-10 days). When atomized and inhaled through a mister, colloidal silver can be sprayed into the nose or throat as a disinfecting throat gargle.
Can I mix colloidal oatmeal with my cetaphil cleanser?
January 5, 2012
Can I put some uncooked colloidal oatmeal in my cetaphil cleanser to help exfoliate my skin? Does the colloidal oatmeal HAVE to be cooked or will it still work uncooked
? Will it be effective in exfoliating to get rid of dead skin cells?……is it ok to mix it with cetaphil?
Uncooked oatmeal is used for exfoliating. Cooked oatmeal is for eating.
You can mix it with your cleanser.
What Do the Bible and Quran Say About the Famous Historical Rains?
January 2, 2012
The Bible and Quran tell us about some famous Historical Rains.
The Lord sent These famous historical rains to the unbelievers and to the people who denied His messengers.
The most famous people were those who denied Noah, Lot and Moses (Pharaoh and the Egyptians).
In addition, the Quran mentions the rain sent to the people who denied Hud. Hud is not found in the Bible.
The Famous Historical Rains in the Bible:
Noah and his people:
Genesis 7:4
Seven days from now I will send rain on the earth for forty days and forty nights, and I will wipe from the face of the earth every living creature I have made.”
Genesis 7:12
And rain fell on the earth forty days and forty nights.
Genesis 8:2
Now the springs of the deep and the floodgates of the heavens had been closed, and the rain had stopped falling from the sky.
Genesis 9:13
I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth.
Genesis 9:14
Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds,
Genesis 9:16
Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.
Lot and his people:
The Lord rained down burning sulfur on Sodom and Gomorrah.
Herein, there is a prophecy saying that:
“no one will live there; no man will dwell in it”
This prophecy never happened.
Genesis 19:24
Then the LORD rained down burning sulfur on Sodom and Gomorrah—from the LORD out of the heavens.
Genesis 19:28
He looked down toward Sodom and Gomorrah, toward all the land of the plain, and he saw dense smoke rising from the land, like smoke from a furnace.
Jeremiah 49:18
As Sodom and Gomorrah were overthrown, along with their neighboring towns,” says the LORD, “so no one will live there; no man will dwell in it.
Jeremiah 50:40
As God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah along with their neighboring towns,” declares the LORD, “so no one will live there; no man will dwell in it.
Egypt
Exodus 9:23
When Moses stretched out his staff toward the sky, the LORD sent thunder and hail, and lightning flashed down to the ground. So the LORD rained hail on the land of Egypt;
Exodus 9:33
Then Moses left Pharaoh and went out of the city. He spread out his hands toward the LORD; the thunder and hail stopped, and the rain no longer poured down on the land.
Exodus 9:34
When Pharaoh saw that the rain and hail and thunder had stopped, he sinned again: He and his officials hardened their hearts.
Exodus 16:4
Then the LORD said to Moses, “I will rain down bread from heaven for you. The people are to go out each day and gather enough for that day. In this way I will test them and see whether they will follow my instructions.
The Famous Historical Rains in the Quran:
Noah and his people:
The Quran states that the People of Noah were punished by the “Flood”.
The flood formed as a result of severe rain and gushing forth springs i.e., water was coming from upside and downside, both water met at a determined extent.
Also, the Quran never mentions the rainbow.
Surah 29:14
SHAKIR: and certainly we sent Noah to his people, so he remained among them a thousand years save fifty years. and the deluge overtook them, while they were unjust
PICKTHAL: and verily we sent Noah (as our messenger) unto his folk, and he continued with them for a thousand years save fifty years; and the flood engulfed them, for they were wrong-doers.
YUSUFALI: we (once) sent Noah to his people, and he tarried among them a thousand years less fifty: but the deluge overwhelmed them while they (persisted in) sin.
Surah 54:10
SHAKIR: so we opened the gates of the cloud with water pouring
PICKTHAL: then opened we the gates of heaven with pouring water
YUSUFALI: so we opened the gates of heaven, with water pouring forth.
Surah 54:11
SHAKIR: and we made water to flow forth in the land in springs, so the water gathered together according to a measure already ordained
PICKTHAL: and caused the earth to gush forth springs, so that the waters met for a predestined purpose.
YUSUFALI: and we caused the earth to gush forth with springs, so the waters met (and rose) to the extent decreed.
The exact translation of the verse 54:11 is:
“We exploded (blew up or burst) the earth to gush forth with many springs”
This verse preceded the sciences and predicts a way to explore what is inside the interior of the earth. When man followed this verse and exploded the earth, he would be able to find out gold, silver, metals, gazes, Oil, water etc.
Hud and Ad:
Hud Came after Noah.
Hud is a Prophet send to a people called “Ad”.
Ad denied and rejected Hud.
Allah banned the rain for them.
They had great drought for a long time.
Then, see what happened:
Surah 46:24
SHAKIR: so when they saw it as a cloud appearing in the sky advancing towards their valleys, they said: this is a cloud which will give us rain. nay! it is what you sought to hasten on, a blast of wind in which is a painful punishment,
PICKTHAL: then, when they beheld it as a dense cloud coming toward their valleys, they said: here is a cloud bringing us rain. nay, but it is that which ye did seek to hasten, a wind wherein is painful torment,
YUSUFALI: then, when they saw the (penalty in the shape of) a cloud traversing the sky, coming to meet their valleys, they said, “this cloud will give us rain!” “nay, it is the (calamity) ye were asking to be hastened!- a wind wherein is a grievous penalty!
Neither Hud nor Ad is mentioned in the Bible.
Lot and his people:
The Quran does not say that the rain was burning sulfur.
The Quran (unlike the Bible) does not prophecies that the land of the people of Lot will motionless, dead lifeless and no one will dwell in it.
The Quran states that the land of Lot’s people was turned upside down; this is not mentioned in the Bible.
Surah 7:84
SHAKIR: and we rained upon them a rain; consider then what was the end of the guilty
PICKTHAL: and we rained a rain upon them. see now the nature of the consequence of evil-doers!
YUSUFALI: and we rained down on them a shower (of brimstone): then see what was the end of those who indulged in sin and crime!
Surah 11:82
SHAKIR: so when our decree came to pass, we turned them upside down and rained down upon them stones, of what had been decreed, one after another
PICKTHAL: so when our commandment came to pass we overthrew (that township) and rained upon it stones of clay, one after another,
YUSUFALI: when our decree issued, we turned (the cities) upside down, and rained down on them brimstones hard as baked clay, spread, layer on layer,-
Surah 15:74
SHAKIR: thus did we turn it upside down, and rained down upon them stones of what had been decreed
PICKTHAL: and we utterly confounded them, and we rained upon them stones of heated clay.
YUSUFALI: and we turned (the cities) upside down, and rained down on them brimstones hard as baked clay.
Surah 25:40
SHAKIR: and certainly they have (often) passed by the town on which was rained an evil rain; did they not then see it? nay! they did not hope to be raised again
PICKTHAL: and indeed they have passed by the township whereon was rained the fatal rain. can it be that they have not seen it? nay, but they hope for no resurrection.
YUSUFALI: and the (unbelievers) must indeed have passed by the town on which was rained a shower of evil: did they not then see it (with their own eyes)? but they fear not the resurrection.
Surah 26:173
SHAKIR: and we rained down upon them a rain, and evil was the rain on those warned
PICKTHAL: and we rained on them a rain. and dreadful is the rain of those who have been warned.
YUSUFALI: we rained down on them a shower (of brimstone): and evil was the shower on those who were admonished (but heeded not)!
Surah 27:58
SHAKIR: and we rained on them a rain, and evil was the rain of those who had been warned
PICKTHAL: and we rained a rain upon them. dreadful is the rain of those who have been warned.
YUSUFALI: and we rained down on them a shower (of brimstone): and evil was the shower on those who were admonished (but heeded not)!
Pharaoh and Egypt:
Unlike the Bible, the Quran does not say that the Lord rained hail on the land of Egypt but it says that Allah sent flood against Egypt.
Before the High-Dam that is built in the 1960(s), Egypt was subjected to flood every year.
Surah 7:133
SHAKIR: therefore we sent upon them widespread death, and the locusts and the lice and the frog and the blood, clear signs; but they behaved haughtily and they were a guilty people
PICKTHAL: so we sent against them the flood and the locusts and the vermin and the frogs and the blood – a succession of clear signs. but they were arrogant and became a guilty folk.
YUSUFALI: so we sent (plagues) on them: wholesale death, locusts, lice, frogs, and blood: signs openly self-explained: but they were steeped in arrogance, – a people given to sin.
Back to the main issue of my series of articles (1-34); this is my question to you smart readers: “Is the Quran quoted from the Bible and which book preceded the sciences”?

What’s the Big Deal About Oils And Lubes?
January 2, 2012
There are lots of reasons why we may begin using them, to re lubricate during long love making sessions, to use with a toy, to use with condoms, etc. and then we find that they just feel good.
First, let’s determine the difference between the two. Oils are for use anywhere on the skin and are generally better used to enhance massages and not so much in lovemaking. Repeatedly applying oil to the sensitive skin of a woman’s intimate areas can cause her some problems in the long run. Lubricants are safe for intimate areas for long term use even if used daily. Another disadvantage to oil is that it can cause condoms to break down very quickly, leading to tears.
Oils definitely have some advantages though. They feel incredible to touch. Used to enhance massages, they are the perfect way to make friction work for you instead of against you. Just the right amount of oil will allow your fingers to slide into the most intimate of places.
Lubricants on the other hand tend to dry in the open too quickly to make good products for use with massages. Lubricants are designed to provide long lasting moisture when used as a replacement for what one’s body produces or doesn’t produce on it’s own. Lubricants, used on more intimate skin, provide longer lasting smooth moisture sufficient to keep friction from burning or causing other delicate problems.
Intimate dryness isn’t just a woman’s problem. The male partner can actually cause tears in the delicate skin around the head of his penis if not sufficiently lubricated. Friction burns can also be extremely uncomfortable if both partners aren’t careful about maintaining sufficient lubrication.
Lubricants can be used with condoms, on both the inside and outside, as they do not break down the materials used to make condoms. In addition, lubricants will not harm the delicate skin they will come into contact with.
Lubricants are digestible and sometimes have added ingredients that taste good. They can be used in places that may come into contact with the mouth where oils are not as digestible and are much more difficult to make palatable. Most oils, however, will not cause any damage if they are ingested, they just don’t taste good.
Both lubricants and oils can have an added ingredient that causes a heating sensation when any amount of friction is applied. In addition to friction, blowing on the lube or oil will cause the heating sensation. This heating sensation is particularly arousing to the male partner causing an explosive erotic response.
Like many women, I have a collection of lubes and oils that I keep in my sex box under the bed along with my special silver vibrator and a fresh set of batteries. I like to try new products and different flavors as they come out. There is one in particular that I discovered recently. It is a lubricant but comes in the form of a cream instead of a liquid. Like all the others, it is safe for your skin, provides great lubrication, safe for condoms but unlike all the others, it feels really good in the cream form. It stays where you put it and doesn’t stain anything should it get away from you and onto the sheets or lingerie.
Consider buying several smaller bottles of various types and flavors until you find the ones you like the best. Don’t forget to use the oils for the times you just want to feel special. Oils can be applied for the moisturizing effect and not just limited to intimate times. I have a minty oil that I use regularly on my ankles and feet when they are feeling
overworked and tired. Many oils have an aroma that evokes a particular feeling. Occasionally you will run into places that allow you to make your own massage oil scents. This is the prefect chance to experiment a bit with what scents turn you on.
Regardless of what the result is, don’t give up after just one try. You will find just the perfect massage oil that makes you crave those late night massages and just the perfect lubricant that makes sex a wonderful experience.

Effect of Alcohol
January 2, 2012
Dr. Richardson, in his lectures on alcohol, given both in England and America, speaking of the action of this substance on the blood after passing from the stomach, says:
“Suppose, then, a certain measure of alcohol be taken into the stomach, it will be absorbed there, but, previous to absorption, it will have to undergo a proper degree of dilution with water, for there is this peculiarity respecting alcohol when it is separated by an animal membrane from a watery fluid like the blood, that it will not pass through the membrane until it has become charged, to a given point of dilution, with water. It is itself, in fact, so greedy for water, it will pick it up from watery textures, and deprive them of it until, by its saturation, its power of reception is exhausted , after which it will diffuse into the current of circulating fluid.”
It is this power of absorbing water from every texture with which alcoholic spirits comes in contact, that creates the burning thirst of those who freely indulge in its use. Its effect, when it reaches the circulation, is thus described by Dr. Richardson:
“As it passes through the circulation of the lungs it is exposed to the air, and some little of it, raised into vapor by the natural heat, is thrown off in expiration. If the quantity of it be large, this loss may be considerable, and the odor of the spirit may be detected in the expired breath. If the quantity be small, the loss will be comparatively little, as the spirit will be held in solution by the water in the blood. After it has passed through the lungs, and has been driven by the left heart over the arterial circuit, it passes into what is called the minute circulation, or the structural circulation of the organism. The arteries here extend into very small vessels, which are called arterioles, and from these infinitely small vessels spring the equally minute radicals or roots of the veins, which are ultimately to become the great rivers bearing the blood back to the heart. In its passage through this minute circulation the alcohol finds its way to every organ. To this brain, to these muscles, to these secreting or excreting organs, nay, even into this bony structure itself, it moves with the blood. In some of these parts which are not excreting, it remains for a time diffused, and in those parts where there is a large percentage of water, it remains longer than in other parts. From some organs which have an open tube for conveying fluids away, as the liver and kidneys, it is thrown out or eliminated, and in this way a portion of it is ultimately removed from the body. The rest passing round and round with the circulation, is probably decomposed and carried off in new forms of matter.
“When we know the course which the alcohol takes in its passage through the body, from the period of its absorption to that of its elimination, we are the better able to judge what physical changes it induces in the different organs and structures with which it comes in contact. It first reaches the blood; but, as a rule, the quantity of it that enters is insufficient to produce any material effect on that fluid. If, however, the dose taken be poisonous or semi-poisonous, then even the blood, rich as it is in water and it contains seven hundred and ninety parts in a thousand is affected. The alcohol is diffused through this water, and there it comes in contact with the other constituent parts, with the fibrine, that plastic substance which, when blood is drawn, clots and coagulates, and which is present in the proportion of from two to three parts in a thousand; with the albumen which exists in the proportion of seventy parts; with the salts which yield about ten parts; with the fatty matters; and lastly, with those minute, round bodies which float in myriads in the blood (which were discovered by the Dutch philosopher, Leuwenhock, as one of the first results of microscopical observation, about the middle of the seventeenth century), and which are called the blood globules or corpuscles. These last-named bodies are, in fact, cells; their discs, when natural, have a smooth outline, they are depressed in the centre, and they are red in color; the color of the blood being derived from them. We have discovered that there exist other corpuscles or cells in the blood in much smaller quantity, which are called white cells, and these different cells float in the blood-stream within the vessels. The red take the centre of the stream; the white lie externally near the sides of the vessels, moving less quickly. Our business is mainly with the red corpuscles. They perform the most important functions in the economy; they absorb, in great part, the oxygen which we inhale in breathing, and carry it to the extreme tissues of the body; they absorb, in great part, the carbonic acid gas which is produced in the combustion of the body in the extreme tissues, and bring that gas back to the lungs to be exchanged for oxygen there; in short, they are the vital instruments of the circulation.
“With all these parts of the blood, with the water, fibrine, albumen, salts, fatty matter and corpuscles, the alcohol comes in contact when it enters the blood, and, if it be in sufficient quantity, it produces disturbing action. I have watched this disturbance very carefully on the blood corpuscles; for, in some animals we can see these floating along during life, and we can also observe them from men who are under the effects of alcohol, by removing a speck of blood, and examining it with the microscope. The action of the alcohol, when it is observable,
is varied. It may cause the corpuscles to run too closely together, and to adhere in rolls; it may modify their outline, making the clear-defined, smooth, outer edge irregular or crenate, or even starlike; it may change the round corpuscle into the oval form, or, in very extreme cases, it may produce what I may call a truncated form of corpuscles, in which the change is so great that if we did not trace it through all its stages, we should be puzzled to know whether the object looked at were indeed a blood-cell. All these changes are due to the action of the spirit upon the water contained in the corpuscles; upon the capacity of the spirit to extract water from them. During every stage of modification of corpuscles thus described, their function to absorb and fix gases is impaired, and when the aggregation of the cells, in masses, is great, other difficulties arise, for the cells, united together, pass less easily than they should through the minute vessels of the lungs and of the general circulation, and impede the current, by which local injury is produced.
“A further action upon the blood, instituted by alcohol in excess, is upon the fibrine or the plastic colloidal matter. On this the spirit may act in two different ways, according to the degree in which it affects the water that holds the fibrine in solution. It may fix the water with the fibrine, and thus destroy the power of coagulation; or it may extract the water so determinately as to produce coagulation.”
